What are some ways to prevent a panic attack?

Bonanza asked:

I do have this stuff called Rescue Remedy, but sometimes it just isn’t enough. So if someone has any techniques they know or use to help prevent a panic attack, I’d greatly appreciate knowing them.

Hiya, there are many remedies to stop or diminish panic or anxiety attacks – however, since many of them are medications I suggest that you don´t try this route initially. You need to try and manage the attacks, the cause of them, what is often the trigger and your best way to control it. There are a great number of resources available to you. One of the most popular and very effective non medication solutions is the “Linden Method”, which has been used by 1,000´s of sufferers to alleviate their condition. You can find more info at together with another popular system used by panic/anxiety sufferers.
Look into it and find more information – it will help you and you can control it but yiou have to take some action.
    Good Luck

One thing is to try and stop listening to the scary thoughts in your head by using your senses.

Look around you and notice 10 things you see
Look around you and notice 10 things you hear
Look around you and notice 10 things you feel

This is pretty hard as you will want to focus on the scary thoughts but keep repeating this exercise till you feel like your back to normal in the present moment ….

Another thing to do is quickly find someone to talk too … Start having a conversation with someone anyone.

You will focus on the conversation not on the thoughts in yur head.

It takes practice but it works well

I read an article this morning saying relaxation and self hypnosis are the best ways to prevent a panic attack. The author recommends a program called panic away. I purchased it and will be starting it tomorrow. I will leave the link the the source box to the article.

    Good Luck!
